Irish Dancing

Christine has been teaching Irish Dancing since 1975, and now runs one of most successful Irish Dancing schools in Australia with a current student population of approximately 120 ranging in age from 4 upwards. As a successful dancer in her own right, Christine achieved outstanding results at State, National and International level in a competitive dancing career which spanned in excess of 25 years. Over recent years, dancers from the Christine Ayres School have travelled to Ireland for the World Championships and America for their Nationals and enjoyed success against the world’s best. Currently Christine is training a squad of 18 dancers to compete at the World Championships in April 2003.

The high standard of tutoring and subsequent success of the school is further evidenced by the school’s involvement in the “Guinness Celebrations of Irish Music” National tour and other Irish Music extravaganzas. In addition, representatives of the school have, on several occasions, accompanied the Chieftains on Australian and International Tours, and dancers have enjoyed the experience of joining a well-known international Irish Dance Show.
