Tracy began performing stand-up comedy in the mid-1980s while working in Melbourne in sales and marketing. The night she willed herself to walk on stage and perform ten minutes of stand-up comedy at the Hilton Hotel was electrifying and the start of something new. The loop between the comedian and the audience was a realisation of her destiny
In 1994 Tracy joined Perth station 94.5FM, and together with Fred Botica, she became part of the citys greatest radio double acts. After three years she caught the attention of Melbournes FOX FM and co-hosted the breakfast programme, leading the show to Number One in the statea position thats been consistently held. "Tracy and Matt in the Morning" has out-rated all other Melbourne FM radio stations for the past five years and is used as the benchmark for Austereos radio network throughout Australia.
Tracy has proved shes one of the most powerful voices in Australian radio she was recently granted the only radio interview with Susan Sarandon in Australia and shes interviewed some of the biggest names in the world including Kirsten Davies, Anastacia, Ronan Keating, Matt Damon, Sophie Ellis Bextorthe list continues!
Tracys talents have also been recognised in the TV world. She was first spotted by producers in Perth in 1993 who gave her regular comic reporting spots on Perths daytime TV show, Jenny Seaton Live and Mad About Movies. Tracy was also, more recently, a regular panellist on Beauty and the Beast, and has proven to be a favourite on popular TV shows including Good Morning Australia and Rove Live.
This professional love affair continued for three years until word of Tracy’s success reached the eastern seaboard. Consequently FOX FM persuaded Tracy to return to her home state of Victoria, and take up residence as Breakfast show host at Melbourne’s 101.9 FOX FM.
September 2002 will mark the fifth anniversary of Tracy’s role at FOX. The final show in 2001 saw Tracy top the ratings for the third survey in a row, making ‘Tracy and Matt in the Morning’ THE most listened to breakfast radio program on THE most listened to station in Melbourne.
Tracy now resides in Melbourne. She runs a successful business called Serious Laughter, its mission is to change peoples lives through laughter. Tracy is also a campaigner for animal rights and children’s rights she is an ambassador for Australians Against Child Abuse. She is also active in woman’s communities and conducts seminars for stressed out women from all walks of life.
