Internationally renowned Australian singer/songwriter Vanessa Amorosi has returned from LA after recording tracks for her second album, set for release later this year.
At only 24, Vanessa has already achieved some amazing triumphs. Her debut album 'The Power' entered the ARIA Chart at #1 and went on to achieve Platinum sales. 'The Power' also spawned the Platinum single 'Shine' and the double Platinum single 'Absolutely Everybody', which still holds the record for the longest charting single by a female in Australia. Vanessa won the APRA Award in 2000 for Most Played Song on Australian Radio with 'Shine' and received international acclaim in Germany where she won Best International Newcomer at the 2003 Viva Comet Awards. Vanessa opened the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, performing 'Heroes Live Forever' to nearly 4 billion viewers. She also took part in the Closing Ceremony where she sang 'Absolutely Everybody' and performed 'The Power' and 'Shine' at the Opening Ceremony of the Paralympics, which was broadcast in 80 countries.
However it's not just her musical achievements that constitute Vanessa Amorosi. At the age of 14, Vanessa began volunteer work helping disadvantaged children. The impact of befriending children who have benefited from her efforts has had a lasting effect on Vanessa, who continues to work with children through her involvement in the Kids Help-Line and as a patron of the Variety Club. One of her dreams is to establish a farm where disadvantaged kids will be able to visit and interact with the many animals she intends to keep.
With time comes change and Vanessa Amorosi’s forthcoming album is definitely one that will have people captivated once again.
