Ladybird is a Melbourne based jazz trio / quartet featuring the seductive tones of jazz vocalist Melanie Atma. Presenting their elegant selection from the classic jazz repertoire Ladybird perform with a style and sophistication that echoes an era long past. Melanie Atma is a classically trained musician with opera and music theatre credits. Her career in jazz and bossa/funk was launched overseas with a recording deal and regular performances on the European jazz circuit. In 1996 she was invited to perform at the Montreux Jazz Festival. She now lives in Melbourne where she works with some of the finest jazz musicians in the country. |
