Coda epitomises urban world culture. Coda is a musical collective who blur the definitions of genre in music.
Coda mix strings with electronics, groove with noise, and pop with classical. They create soaring harmonies, laidback beats and a chill out sensibility. Coda perform with an energy and vitality that can only be summed up as exceptionally unique.
Coda, who formed in 1994, has toured with a myriad of artists ranging from Leonardo’s Bride, Antenna, Savage Garden, Jonathan Richman to the Kusun Ensemble. They have performed at the Big Day Out, Sydney Festival, Woodford Folk festival, Glenworth Valley, The Opera House studio space and Bennelong Restaurant. They recently performed as a 25 piece for the Wayne Cooper fashion week in Sydney.
Coda strings have been recorded for contemporary Australian artists such as Leonardo’s Bride, Died Pretty, Big Heavy Stuff, Pollyana. Coda have also featured on compilations, Timelines, Club Kooky 3, OutFM, e scape, and the Olympic CD. Individually, members of Coda have been performing and recording with a diverse range of artists from Mick Hart, Paul Mac, Powderfinger to Kylie and the Cologne chamber orchestra. |
