Antoinette Halloran - Solo Soprano

Antoinette Halloran is a graduate of the VCA and has an Honours Degree in Music from the University of Melbourne. Since graduating, Antoinette has appeared in many productions ranging from opera to music theatre and cabaret. Performances include Gilda in Rigoletto "a perversion", and Desdemona in Otello "a subversion", for Theatreworks in their highly acclaimed Verdi trilogy.

Antoinette toured Japan as Carlotta in Ken Hill’s Phantom of the Opera with an international cast, and played the role of Mrs Segstrom for the Melbourne Theatre Company in their production of A Little Night Music in Melbourne and Sydney. In 1999, she was Madam Olga in a national tour of The Merry Widow for Esgee Entertainment, and the Mona Lisa for the Australian premiere of the musical A Portrait of Love. In 2000, Antoinette was cast by the New York Producers of Forbidden Broadway to perform opposite Phillip Gould in the Melbourne season.

In 2002, Antoinette appeared as Sophie de Palma in the national touring production of Masterclass, performed the role of Mimi in OzOpera’s production of La Bohème, the soprano solos in Haydn’s Creation for the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Society, the leading role in Motherland of the Foreign Son for ChamberMade Opera at the Melbourne Festival and the title role in The Ghost Wife at the Barbican, U.K.

In 2005, Antoniette Halloran sang the roles of Mimi in La Boheme, Despina in Cosi fan Tutte and Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore all for Opera Australia, Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni for Melbourne Opera and appeared as soloist for the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Sydney Philharmonia Choirs. In 2006, she performed Gianetta in The Gondoliers and Ellen in Lakmé for Opera Australia, Fiordiligi in Cosi fan Tutti for Victorian Opera and appeared as soloist with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and in concert with Elvis Costello for the Sydney Festival. She also featured as a guest judge and panelist on the ABC television series OperatunityOz.

In 2007, Antoinette will sing Gianetta in The Gondoliers and Johanna in Sweeney Todd for Opera Australia and appear in concert with The Melbourne Chorale and Sydney Philharmonia.]
She is also one of the directors of the fabulously acclaimed Divas Inc.!
