Whether on stage, in the recording studio, on the red carpet or on the radio, David's infectious personality, wit and humour sets him apart as one of Australia's most popular personalities.

Having signed an international recording deal with Sony BMG Music as well as previously co-hosting Australia's Top 20 Countdown on VH1, there is no doubt David Campbell is one of Australia's hottest entertainers. With three hit singles already under his belt, David has just released his newest album full of swinging beats! Campbell has enjoyed an extensive career in musical theatre, which has been recognized by a host of awards. After years on the New York stage David returned to Australia in 1999 to take the lead of Johnny O'Keefe in the record breaking rock n' roll musical ‘Shout’ to great appraise! He has also starred in Channel 7’s hit television production “Dancing with the Stars” where he joined a star-studded and was the host of Sydney’s No 1 night radio show, “Arse About Countdown” on Nova 96.9FM last year.

David Joseph Campbell was born in Adelaide, Australia on August 6, 1973. Raised by his grandmother, he grew up wanting to be a performer. He didn't find out he was the son of Australian rock star, Jimmy Barnes, until he was 11, but singing was in his genes. He began working professionally in Australia in 1993, after extensive training in youth theatre, during which he won an Australia Day award for his contribution to youth stars. David first attracted attention in Sydney with his role in the hit Australian play Relative Merits, followed by roles in several other plays, in addition to his first major singing roles in cabaret performances at the Stables Theatre. His breakthrough performance was in the highly lauded revival of Alex Harding's musical, Only Heaven Knows, for which he was nominated for a MO Award (Australia's equivalent to the U.S.'s Tony Award) for Best Musical Theatre Performer of the Year.
