Gary Eck

Gary Eck is one of Australia’s most popular and versatile stand-up comedians whose sharp wit has been entertaining Australian and international audiences for over fourteen years.

Gary has performed at the Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney Comedy festivals as well toured internationally including London, Singapore and New York.

Gary has performed his stand-up accompanied by an Live Orchestra, emceed the Myer Spring Summer Launch with Jennifer Hawkins and appeared on numerous television shows including Rove, The Footy Show and Spicks and Specks.

Gary has also successfully ventured into film having co-starred and co-written the feature film You Can’t Stop the Murders (Miramax 2003) and stars in recently released Boytown along side Mick Molloy and Glenn Robbins (now out on DVD).

He has also won the world’s largest short film competition, Tropfest, with his short film entitled The Money. A collection of Gary’s comedy short films is currently screening in a special one hour programme on the Comedy Channel entitled, Ecks Rated Shorts.

Gary has recently released a stand-up CD, Gary Eck Live! and has been nominated for an ARIA award for comedy album The Hollywood Motel.

Gary has worked extensively in Radio having worked as a comedy writer early in his career for the likes of Doug Mulray, and Wendy Harmer. He has also hosted two radio shows on 2DayFM, the Saturday Morning G-Team with Gretel Killeen and the Sunday Late Show with Gary Eck.

In the past Gary has toured with the Umbilcal Brothers, Jimeoin and supported US comedy Legend Steven Wright.

Gary is presently co-writing a feature film with Stuart Beattie who penned Pirates of the Caribbean and Collateral. It is a Working Title project.
