Josh Lawson

Josh Lawson is a writer, actor and comedian who writes and performs in a variety of film, television and theatre projects.

Since graduating NIDA where he first wrote the sell-out theatre review YOU HAD TO BE THERE in 2001. Josh has written for television programs including TWENTY FOUR SEVEN in 2002 and MY NEW BEST FRIEND in 2004. He has also written a number of comedy sketches for Comedy Inc., articles for magazines and commercials for television, radio and the internet. In 2007 Josh is writing the final episode of the third series of the pay-TV hit show STUPID, STUPID MAN.

After winning Naked Theatre Company’s Top Shorts playwriting competition in 2005 with his play SHAKESPEARLIALISM, Josh won best comedy script in the Short and Sweet theatre competition in 2006 with another short play THE 11’O’CLOCK. SHAKESPEARIALISM was recently produced as a radio drama by ABC radio’s Airwaves program and enjoyed a return season at the Old Fitzroy Theatre in Sydney in late 2006 alongside THE 11’O’CLOCK and a new short play WORK IN PROGRESS.

Josh has a number of writing projects currently in development. Josh is currently a regular guest on the popular series THANK GOD YOU ARE HERE on Channel 10 and is currently playing roles in the upcoming drama series SEA PATROL for Channel 9, THE LIBRARIANS for the ABC and CHANDON for Foxtel.
