Lychee Martini is a group that fuses dance and Latin grooves, dub ambience and beautiful melodies with a jazz sensibility. The band’s sophisticated and inviting sound has seen them travel to Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Malaysia to play for high fashion shows and special nightclub events. They have played for Gucci, Chanel and Frank Muller’s famed ’Nocturnal Haven’ parties. Locally they have played residencies in numerous venues around Melbourne including Don’t Tell Tom, Spleen Bar, The Social Bar and The Kitten Club, as well as for art exhibitions at ACCA and Federation Square. The Lychees are currently recording their debut album, due for release in mid 2008. The album will be a blend of live songs and remixes, and is already generating interest in the USA, UK and Europe.
