Royal Children's Sings
A Cappella, Voices & Choirs available for hire, based in Victoria
Royal Children's Sings commenced in 2009 and is a staff choir program based at the Royal Children's Hospital. The aim of the choir is to bring together clinical and non-clinical staff from all the different departments of the hospital and improve communication and wellbeing. For participants it is an opportunity to develop leadership potential, build self esteem, communication and creative skills. They also learn how to work as a team to meet challenges by unlocking their creative potential.
The choir is part of Creativity Australia's 'With One Voice' program founded by Tania de Jong AM. It is conducted by the inspiring Shaun Islip and performs a variety of music including dynamic African gospel songs, Australian songs and all time favourite hits such as Amazing Grace, Hallelujah, Love Changes Everything, Rhythm of Life, You'll Never Walk Alone, Waltzing Matilda and lots more!
Royal Children's Sings have performed at a number of major health conferences and other special events as well as around the Royal Children's Hospital and for the Channel 7 Good Friday Appeal. New members are welcome!
"On 9th October at the opening of the Australasian Integrative Medicine Association Annual Holistic Health Conference, we were privileged to open this conference with the wonderful Royal Children’s Hospital Choir. It was most appropriate to have this great initiative of the hospital involving their staff from many departments come together in such skillful harmony, to perform at our Conference with its emphasis on health and wellness. The choir sang beautifully and with such passion and joy. The feedback from our delegates was excellent and they appreciated the conference opening on such a high note!
Many thanks to Shaun Islip and Tania de Jong from Creativity Australia for organizing this." Anna Ryan, AIMA
