Caroline O’Connor

Caroline was born in Lancashire and subsequently raised and trained in Sydney before returning to the UK for extensive training at the Royal Ballet School, London. Over a period of 15 years Caroline’s career has encompassed all areas of the entertainment industry, emerging as one of the most versatile and respected performers in England and Australia. She has performed countless lead roles in a colourful array of sell-out Musical Theatre and Opera productions. These have included 2 seasons of West Side Story and a sell-out series of Gershwin Concerts (3 seasons running) at the Opera House, both with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Cabaret at The Strand, performances with the English National Opera & Victorian State Opera, and leading roles in numerous West End and repertory theatre shows such as Cassie in A Chorus Line, Roxie Hart in Chicago, Ellie May in Showboat, Lizzie in Baby, Kay in Salt of the Earth and Anita in Westside Story. She has just finished two successful seasons in Melbourne & Sydney performing Piaf. Awards have been numerous - Caroline has won several prestigious Australian MO awards for Female Musical Theatre Performer of the Year, was nominated for the 1996 Lawrence Olivier Award for Best Actress, and performed for the Queen in 1995. She recently finished shooting the latest Baz Luhrman movie, “Moulin Rouge” and recording her second solo CD.
