The Glorious Sousaphonic Brass Band comes to you from the tradition of New Orleans street parade bands. The front line of three saxophones played happy, bouncing tunes over a mesh of drums and percussion, glued together by Sam Golding's sousaphone and tuba. Drawing on calypso and New Orleans styles, the music edges towards the funkier side of the "avant-garde", and sometimes towards the groove of disco. The band in short, are one of the most eclectic brass bands around. They are available as both a roving jazz group or as a stage band, as a festival attraction or as a feature on stage. Having played at the Manly Jazz Festival for the past four years and have been very well received at rock festivals and fiestas in and around Sydney, they make a commendable attraction to any event.
